Perlite is a completely separated inert mineral which is used as an addition to ready-made planting mixes or as a growing medium by itself (usually in germination). And good drainage, which manifests itself in an excellent water-to-oxygen ratio, which causes a significant reduction in the problems of excess water and rot in the growing medium while maintaining very high humidity.
